Barneylicious

Last week I started taking a class from Dale Carnegie. It's a 3.5 hour class, once a week for 12 weeks. There are 45 participants, a trainer and 7 coaches. Walking into a room of people I didn't know = my nightmare. For those of you who know me in real life, it might be hard to imagine me as shy, so I'm sure it'd be a sight to behold for many of you.

I couldn't help but stare at one of the trainers throughout the night. She's petite, brunette and outgoing. And she looked like Barney. She was wearing a purple jacket that clearly wasn't her size - it stuck out at the shoulders, too broad for her small frame. The saving grace was that it was belted so it gave her at least some sort of waist. And everything she accessorized with was the same purple as her jacket. Eyeshadow, lipstick, necklace and, yes, even toenail polish. I could have sworn she managed to find a purple-tinted eyebrow pencil, too, because her eyebrows were quite dark.

Go all out all night. Mix patterns with a one-shoulder dress and a traditional pashmina ($30). Rock some badass jewelry and strappy booties.
