Speaking of disappearances...
Four months after my last big breakup I joined eHarmony. I emailed back and forth with a couple of people, but Aaron, a gorgeous blonde-haired, blue-eyed army man stationed at Fort Hood, caught my eye. This girl just can't resist a man in uniform - but don't tell Kevin. We started talking on the phone after exchanging emails for a week or two. He was energetic and funny and loved to dance. Score.
One weekend I didn't hear from him until Sunday evening when he texted me. He apologized, but he had been in the hospital. "I was shot," Aaron said. ??? "On base?" I asked.
He had been in line at the bank on post when someone came in to rob it. "Not at my bank!" he told me. He heroically tried to take down the robber and was shot in the process. Thankfully he was still wearing his kevlar vest from the shooting range where he had just finished training.
"Aaron, I think we should start talking to other people..."
